Intravenous (IV) and intramuscular (IM) therapies are highly efficient means of delivering fluids, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to the body. IM therapy is administered as an injection, while IV therapy is administered on a drip to the bloodstream.
IV and IM deliver different protocols.
How are IV and IM beneficial?
Many people are inadequately equipped to absorb all the necessary nutrients and vitamins by regular means of digestion (the intestinal tract). IV and IM therapies streamline the absorption of fluids, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids into the body by delivering what you need directly to the bloodstream. Bypassing the digestive system leads to a 100% absorption rate, resulting in accelerated recovery times and improved overall performance.
Who can benefit from IV/IM therapy?
The idea that IV and IM could, in fact, benefit everyone is obvious – from athletes (to support performance in a safe way), to overworked executives and employees (to support a healthy immune system and stress-fighting hormones), to seniors (to improve nutrient absorption and support healthy aging). Moreover, improving the internal health of your organism can tremendously reduce signs of aging like skin wrinkles.
High-dose IV Vitamin C, for example, improves a wide variety of chronic conditions while focusing on getting and staying healthy. Some conditions that we treat through intravenous Vitamin C include arthritis, enhancing immune resilience and support, Lyme disease, bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, and pain after injury.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) has published evidence demonstrating Vitamin C’s anti-cancer properties as a supportive measure in patients challenged by cancer. While the technique does not cure cancer, it better equips your body to handle the burden of cancer while mitigating the side effects of chemotherapy.
If you suffer from anything ranging from a cold or flu to a debilitating disease, you can benefit from a variety of IV/IM infusions. Whatever your condition, we build upon our standardized protocols to design a formula tailored to your unique circumstances
Before we begin
Assessment:
Before treatment can begin, I must do two things:
1. Perform a thorough naturopathic assessment;
2. Review or requisition blood and/or urine tests to determine if it’s safe to proceed with treatment;
3. After performing the necessary blood work to determine your individual needs, our medical director will confirm your eligibility for IV or IM therapy.
This procedure establishes a functional baseline to evaluate your progress moving forward.
Treatment:
An IM shot takes no more than 10 minutes. IV drips, however, depend on the amount of fluids in your treatment. One IV session can take 30 minutes for a small drip and up to two hours for the largest drip. In any case, we’ve designed our clinical lounge to create a comfortable environment of relaxation. Many of our professional patients use this time to make calls, answer emails, strategize, meditate, nap, or watch Netflix. IV and IM treatments can be given once or twice weekly. The value of your time matters to me, so it’s only a question of your schedule.
Once you fill out that form, we’ll review your profile and let you know if we think you’d benefit from treatment. At that time, you can choose to book either your initial appointment if you feel ready or a free, 15-minute introductory consult so you can decide if we’re a good fit for you.
